Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with GE Zigbee lights and the SmartThings hub. I’ve been using these lights in my basement, which is quite far from my ST v2 hub on the first floor. Pairing them was a bit of a challenge, but I managed to get everything set up. However, I noticed an issue where the lights would reset or ‘panic’ if they couldn’t communicate with the hub, especially after a power outage.
I found that physically moving the hub to the basement during setup helped, but this isn’t a long-term solution. I’m now considering adding more Zigbee devices as repeaters to improve the mesh network. I’d love to hear if others have faced similar issues and how they resolved them.
Also, I’d like to highlight the importance of having reliable physical switches alongside smart controls. It’s been a lifesaver for me, and I hope more manufacturers prioritize this. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your insights!
