Get rid of old Matter networks

Folks, got my U200 and tried to connect it via matter to my Google Streamer (worked) and share the device to Home Assistant (didn’t work).
So I installed Open Thread Router on my Home Assistant, ready to get the U200 paired directly to Home Assistant.
I deleted the device from Google Home. I resetted the U200. I updated to the latest (0084) firmware. I did mostly everything… but guess what -

each and any time I want to connect the lock to my new Matter hub, the old Thread network will show up and the device tries to connect to that old network what does not exist anymore.

Where is this information stored in?
The Lock itself? (I did a factory reset twice)
Google Home? (I even deleted the ‘home’ where the lock was stored…)
My phone? (I tried with a different phone, which is not connected to my G account.)
The Matter hub? (I unplugged the device. No power - no network.)
In Home Assistant? (I deleted the network, but it will be found again as soon as G Streamer starts. BUT: I set my favorite network which the lock should connect with to ‘preferred network’.

Nothing did help at all, the old and outdated network will show up whenever I try to connect the lock.

Is there anyone who can give me a hint?
Thanks
Lukas

Hi @sondereggerlukas ,
Puhh I also did all these steps to bind it !
Unfortunately I’m not a professional in HA….
I also supposed the network settings are saved on the lock itself! But one question, how did you made the reset?

Maybe @KinseyCreateGoods can give us the information we need?!?

Hi there. I know this may sound like a long and pointless endeavour but stick with it as it may help, and just before starting the process, do you have an Aqara gateway? (M3 would be ideal).

For resetting
On the keypad - hold the lock & tick buttons until the voice finishes saying the device will reset, please keep holding the buttons until the voice finishes speaking. Enter the admin passcode you set up. Wait until the confirmation is given saying the lock has been reset.

On the lock - pull the battery out for 10 seconds.
Put the battery back in.
Press the reset button and hold for 15 seconds.
Wait 15 seconds.
Quickly press the reset button 10 times.
Wait 20 seconds.
Pull the battery out
Wait 10 seconds.
Put the battery back in.

This should now be as it was when it came from the factory.

Unfortunately I don’t use HA & I don’t trust Google with my data, particularly sensitive home data so I can’t speak as to exact setup for these 2 systems, however with these steps, at least you should be able to start from scratch.

I don’t think @gafich10 ! With a M3 it would be more easier I think as well @UKAndyC mentioned before

Hello, welcome to the forum. From your description, I didn’t understand whether you have an Aqara gateway М3.

all,

factory reset I did as follows:
lock+ok button on the keypad for several seconds, enter admin credentials.
furthermore I pressed the reset button on the lock for about 20 seconds until it stopped beeping.

no, I do NOT have a M3 hub. I have HomeAssistant and I don’t want to have separate hubs for each device.

I managed it to find, where google saved the old network data → in google play services. after I set these back, the bounding process starts, finds the lock, generates matter credentials and… STOPS.

something is blocking the process and I do not know whether it’s the lock itself or something else. as it is the first matter device I have at all, I need to test the process with another device, so I can figure out, what blocks the process at all.

thanks
lukas

At one time, my wife’s phone (iPhone) helped me connect it to my Android. Maybe you can try it too. I’m talking about the experience of connecting it to the M3.
