My adventure began with a simple goal: to automate my home heating system. I wanted something reliable and easy to integrate with my Android devices. After some research, I decided to go with HomeMatic, but honestly, the sheer number of devices and brands available was overwhelming. I had no idea if all HomeMatic devices were compatible with each other, or if I needed to stick to a single manufacturer.

It turns out that while there are differences in quality and features, most HomeMatic devices are designed to work together, which was a huge relief! I started with a few basic components, like the FHT8R-2 and FHT8V-2 thermostats, and gradually expanded my setup.
