Getting Started with Hue Devices on Homey

Hi everyone, I’m really excited to share my experience with integrating Philips Hue devices into my Homey setup. After spending some time experimenting, I’ve got some tips and questions that might be helpful for others who are looking to do the same!

First off, I’ve been using the Philips Hue Zigbee app to connect my lamps, and it’s been a breeze. The setup process is straightforward, and the reliability has been impressive—I’ve yet to encounter any dropouts. However, I’m now looking to expand my setup with some Hue Tap Switches and Smart Buttons. From what I understand, these devices need to be paired directly with the Hue Bridge, which currently isn’t connected to my Homey.

Here’s where I’m a bit stuck: I’d love to know if it’s possible to connect the Hue Bridge to Homey using the Hue app, and then pair the Tap Switches and Smart Buttons directly to the bridge. If that’s doable, I’m wondering if I can create flows in Homey that respond to actions from these switches, like toggling lights or adjusting settings. For example, could I set it up so that pressing a Tap Switch would turn on a specific Hue lamp that’s already connected to Homey?

I’ve also heard that some users have had success with multi-camera subscriptions and discounts, but I’m not sure how that applies to my setup. If anyone has tips or tricks for optimizing Hue device integration with Homey, or experiences with multi-device subscriptions, I’d love to hear about them!

Another thing I’m curious about is whether there are any known issues or limitations when using multiple Hue devices alongside other Zigbee devices on the same network. I want to ensure that adding more Hue devices won’t interfere with my existing setup.

I’m really looking forward to hearing from the community—your insights and experiences would be invaluable as I continue to explore and expand my smart home setup. Thanks in advance for any advice or tips you can share!
