Hello everyone! I’m new to the world of smart home automation and I’m really excited to start integrating some ZigBee devices into my setup. I’ve been doing a lot of research and I came across a few challenges that I wanted to share and get some advice on.
First, I recently purchased a Lightify Switch and I’m trying to connect it to my Homematic system. I’ve managed to get the gateway recognized, but the switch itself isn’t showing up as a device in my Alexa app. I’ve tried following the instructions, but it’s been a bit frustrating. Does anyone have any tips or troubleshooting steps they could share? I really want to get this working so I can control my lights through Alexa without any hiccups.
Another thing I’m curious about is automating the color temperature of my Sengled bulbs in Home Assistant. I’ve got them connected via ZigBee, but I’m struggling to find them in my action items list for creating automations. I can manually adjust them, which is great, but I’d love to set up some routines based on time of day or occupancy. Any pointers on how to get this working would be amazing!
I’ve also heard a lot about people having issues with Bluetooth lights disconnecting. I have a few BT lights myself, and I’m worried about running into the same problem. Has anyone found a reliable solution or workaround for this? It would be really helpful to know if there’s a common fix or if it’s something that’s still being worked on.
Lastly, I’m really interested in learning more about the KNX binding in OpenHAB. I’ve installed the latest version, but I’m having trouble getting my devices to work properly. I’ve included some example items in my configuration, but they just don’t seem to be responding. I’m wondering if there’s a specific setup or configuration tweak that I’m missing. Any advice or resources would be greatly appreciated!
