Govee ceiling fan and Apple Home

I would like to bring the ceiling fan in my office into Apple home. Due to its nature and the wiring I think currently I have three options: replace it with a smart Hunter fan similar to the one in our bedroom, replace it with the new Govee ceiling fan or wait until Hunter comes out with their adapter they announced at CES.

So my question - has anyone seen anywhere what the Govee ceiling fan brings into Apple Home. It is “matter” not Apple certified so I’m concerned that as cool as it looks and all, it’ll likely not bring great functionality natively into Apple Home. Curious if anyone has it or has seen any non-AI videos on it?

@preasoner You seem to be experiencing an issue with integrating a third-party Govee ceiling fan into Apple Home and are concerned about its functionality since it is Matter-certified but not Apple-certified. You can contact customer support for assistance. Contact the Aqara Home App Customer Service Team (Profile> Help & Feedback > Customer Service) or scan the QR code:

This will be more efficient. If you do not have an Aqara Home account, “Please click here” to create a ticket.

Hi @preasoner can you send a link to the exact Govee product?

Sure. Here it is on Amazon US:

Here it is on their site:

I know Govee is very limited on what their products can do in Apple Home. I think I’ve read for this product it’s quite limited.

By contrast our bedroom Hunter fan can do a lot in Apple Home. Even reversing the direction of the fan.

Hmm , thanks for the link- so if it’s Matter , you should be able to bind it! But not sure which settings, specifications will show up - unfortunately don’t have any Matter fan

I’m not entirely sure whether Apple Home supports fans (Matter device type 43 / 0x002B). They aren’t listed on Apple’s support page.

In our master bedroom we have a Hunter Aerodyne that works great in Apple natively.

Yes, it will work via the HomeKit protocol, but probably not via Matter. The Govee device you linked to supports Matter, but not HomeKit.
