I recently participated in the Govee Christmas Charity event and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Last week, I redeemed all my points for the Hexa panels! It took six months to collect the points, but it was well worth the effort. The Hexa panels are incredibly bright and versatile, allowing me to create wonderful DIY scenes and even sync them with music. I finally found the perfect spot for them in my room, and the delivery was incredibly fast—redeemed on the 7th and delivered by the 12th! A huge thank you to Govee for this amazing experience. I’ve also been experimenting with integrating my smart devices, and I’d love to share a tip I found helpful. I recently set up a Sengled smart switch with Home Assistant using zigbee2mqtt. It’s a fantastic way to control a single light entity with customizable button mappings. For example, pressing the switch once turns the light on at 50%, while a double press brings it to full brightness. I even added fade effects for a smoother transition. If anyone is interested, I can share the blueprint configuration details. On a different note, I’ve been struggling with inbound group messaging for zigbee remotes in Home Assistant. I’ve read that this feature isn’t currently supported, which is a bit frustrating. I’d love to hear from others who might have found a workaround or have insights into why this feature isn’t prioritized. Overall, my smart home journey has been a mix of excitement and challenges, but I’m learning something new every day. If anyone has tips or experiences to share, I’d be happy to hear them!
