Hey everyone!
I wanted to share my recent experience with Govee products and a fun DIY lighting project I worked on. It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to dive into some home automation DIY, but I’m really glad I did!
First off, I’ve been absolutely thrilled with how Govee has been improving their product lineup. I remember when their Cobb lights had some pretty off colors—yellow was this neon, almost sickly shade, and dim warm lights looked more like neon green. But now, they’ve finally fixed those issues! Yellow is actually yellow, orange is orange, and warm dimming looks warm and natural. It’s a huge upgrade, and I’m not the only one who’s noticed—my family and friends have commented on how much better the lighting looks in our home. Kudos to Govee for listening to feedback and making these much-needed adjustments!
Speaking of lighting, I’ve been working on a fun project to upgrade our outdoor movie nights. We’ve got a projector set up in the backyard, and I wanted to ensure the lighting was just right for movie nights without being too harsh. I ended up using some Govee outdoor lights set to a low 9% brightness. It’s perfect—enough light to see comfortably, but not so bright that it washes out the screen. Plus, the smooth color transitions have been a hit for creating different atmospheres depending on the movie genre!
I’d love to hear from others who’ve tried similar setups or have tips for optimizing outdoor lighting for entertainment. What are your favorite color combinations or brightness levels for movie nights or backyard gatherings?
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with integrating different smart lighting brands into my setup. I’d love to hear if anyone has tips or challenges they’ve faced when mixing devices from multiple manufacturers. How do you ensure seamless control and consistent performance across the board?
Thanks for reading, and I hope you all have some fun DIY projects in the works too!
Let’s keep the ideas flowing! ![]()
