I’ve recently had the pleasure of experimenting with Govee’s custom lighting effects, and I must say, it’s been an incredibly rewarding experience. For those who don’t know, I’ve been on a journey of self-discovery and growth over the past two decades, and I wanted to find a unique way to celebrate that journey. Enter Govee’s Curtain Light V2 and their custom effects feature—perfect for turning my story into a visual masterpiece.
I’ve always been fascinated by the intersection of technology and creativity. As someone who’s spent years in the steel industry, I’ve learned that even the toughest materials can be shaped into something beautiful. This inspired me to create a custom light effect called “The Pillars of Purpose,” which tells the story of my life through three meaningful chapters:

Rising Clean – 23 Years Sober: A phoenix rising from flames, symbolizing rebirth and resilience. The animation transitions from flickering flames to glowing wings, culminating in a burst of sparkles. The colors are a mix of red, orange, gold, and pure white, representing the warmth and hope of a new beginning.

Forged in Steel – 19 Years in the Industry: This scene features an anvil and hammer, highlighting resilience and craftsmanship. The animation includes sparks bursting with each strike, followed by a pulsing iron glow. The color palette is dominated by steel blue, silver, and orange bursts, reflecting the strength and precision of my work.

Grounded in Love – 17 Years Married: Two interlocking hearts bloom, symbolizing growth and unity. The animation starts with a heartbeat pulse, transitions to an upward bloom, and ends with a glowing tree of life. The colors are warm amber, soft purples, and glowing pinks, representing the nurturing love that keeps me grounded.
I captured this display from above using my drone, giving it a grandeur that truly reflects the scale of my journey. This setup hangs in my workshop, where I craft, reflect, and create—a constant reminder of how far I’ve come and the people who’ve supported me along the way.
