I recently came across some fantastic advice on this forum about what to do with older Govee products, and I thought I’d share my experience. A while back, I had a few Govee devices that I no longer needed, but I couldn’t bring myself to just throw them away—after all, they’ve been such reliable companions in my smart home setup.
Then, I remembered something I’d read here: why not gift them to someone who could appreciate them? I decided to give my old Govee devices to my father-in-law, who I’ve been talking about Govee to for ages. He’s even done a few DIY projects himself, so I knew he’d make great use of them.
Fast forward a few weeks, and not only was he thrilled with the gift, but I also noticed a significant improvement in the lighting at his house when I visited. It was a win-win situation—my father-in-law got some great devices, and I got to enjoy better lighting during my visits.
