I recently purchased the Govee H5040 Leak Detectors to monitor potential water leaks in my home. These devices have been a lifesaver, detecting issues before they caused significant damage. However, I’ve noticed that the Govee app doesn’t provide low battery warnings for these sensors, which has led to some unexpected downtime.
A few weeks ago, I heard an unusual clicking sound coming from behind my washing machine. Upon investigation, I found that one of the leak detectors had a nearly dead battery. This incident made me realize how crucial it is to have battery status alerts integrated into the app. Currently, I have to manually check each sensor, which is time-consuming and inconvenient.
I understand that adding this feature might require some effort, but it would greatly enhance the reliability of these devices. The battery reminders on my Govee thermometers and hygrometers are incredibly useful, and I’d love to see the same functionality extended to the leak detectors.
In the meantime, I’ve started a routine to periodically check all my sensors. It’s not ideal, but it’s a workaround until a better solution is available. I’m hopeful that Govee will consider adding this feature in a future update. Until then, I’ll continue to appreciate the excellent performance of these leak detectors.
