Hey everyone! I just wanted to share my recent experience installing a Govee LED strip in my living room. I’ve been using Govee products for a while now, and I must say, they’ve consistently impressed me with their quality and ease of use. However, this installation was a bit tricky, and I thought I’d walk through my journey and maybe pick up some tips along the way.
First off, I decided to install the strip along the highest part of my wall, wrapping around the entire perimeter of the room. It’s a great way to add some ambient lighting and really tie the space together. But here’s where I hit my first snag: power supply. The wall where I wanted to install the strip didn’t have any outlets at that height, which was a bit of a problem. After some research, I found that using a power strip with an extendable cord was the perfect solution. It allowed me to place the strip high up without any issues and gave me the flexibility to adjust it later if needed.
Once the strip was up, the next step was figuring out the best color combinations. I’ve heard that using warm whites and soft hues can create a cozy atmosphere, while cooler tones are great for energizing spaces. I ended up experimenting with a mix of whites and soft blues, which worked beautifully for both daytime and evening use. The Govee app made it super easy to tweak the settings, and I even set up some automated routines based on the time of day.
I’d love to hear how others have installed their Govee strips and what color combinations they swear by. Have you found any innovative ways to power your strips in hard-to-reach places? Let’s share some ideas and maybe inspire each other to create some amazing lighting setups!
