I recently embarked on a fun DIY project using Govee LED strips, and I thought I’d share my experience with the community! ![]()
I’ve always been a fan of Govee’s products—they’re affordable, customizable, and perfect for adding a touch of magic to any space. For this project, I decided to create a “Soundwave” art installation. The idea was to use the LED strips to mimic the undulating patterns of sound waves, and it turned out even better than I imagined!
Here’s a quick rundown of what I did:
-
Materials: I used Govee’s LED strips, some wooden boards, and a few screws to mount everything. The strips were a breeze to install, and their adhesive backing made positioning them a cinch.
-
Design: I sketched out the wave pattern on paper first, then transferred it to the wooden boards. The key was to create a seamless flow, so I made sure the strips were evenly spaced and aligned perfectly.
-
Automation: To really bring the installation to life, I set up a simple automation using my smartphone. Now, whenever I play music through my speakers, the LED strips sync up and pulse in time with the beats. It’s like having a mini light show every time I turn on the music!

-
Tips: If you’re planning something similar, I’d recommend testing the LED strips in different lighting conditions to see how the colors pop. Also, don’t be afraid to experiment with different wave patterns—there’s no right or wrong way to do it!
This project has been a great way to get creative with technology, and I’ve loved seeing how it brightens up my space. If anyone has similar DIY projects or tips, I’d love to hear about them! ![]()
