Hey everyone, I’ve been really enjoying integrating my Govee lights into my smart home setup! 
Recently, I decided to dive into using Node-RED alongside Home Assistant to create some custom automations, and I must say, it’s been a fantastic journey. However, I did run into an interesting issue that I wanted to share and see if others have experienced something similar.
So, here’s the deal: I’ve successfully set up a few Govee devices, and they’ve been working like a charm for the most part. I can turn them on with an automation in Node-RED without any hiccups. But here’s the kicker—when it comes to turning them off, it’s been a bit of a puzzle. The lights do turn off, but there’s this extra step involved that I can’t quite figure out. I’ve noticed that when I click to turn them off in the developer tools, the icons change, and then the light turns off. It’s almost like there’s an intermediate state before it fully turns off. Has anyone else encountered this? I’d love to hear if there’s a workaround or if this is just a quirk of the Govee integration.
On a more positive note, I’ve managed to create some really cool automations with these lights. For instance, I’ve set up a routine where the lights dim gradually in the evening, creating a cozy ambiance as the day winds down. It’s these little touches that really make a home feel smart and lived-in. I’m also exploring the possibility of integrating these lights with my music system for some synchronized lighting effects—think color changes in sync with the beat of my favorite tunes. Now, that’s what I call a smart home upgrade!
