Govee Lights Shine Bright Through Tornado: A Smart Home Success Story

I wanted to share an incredible experience I had with my Govee smart lights recently. A few blocks from my house, there was a small tornado with winds reaching 82 MPH. Despite the chaos, my Govee lights remained untouched and continued to function perfectly! It’s amazing to see how reliable these lights are, even in extreme weather conditions. I couldn’t be happier with their performance.

On a different note, I’ve been exploring Z-Wave smart outlets and came across the Leviton DZR15-1LZ. It’s been performing well, but I noticed a residual voltage issue when it’s turned off. Plugging in a multimeter, I saw 120V when on and 90V when off. This leaves an LED lamp slightly lit, which is a bit frustrating. I’m curious if the GE 12721 receptacle faces the same issue. Before placing an order, I want to ensure it completely turns off with 0V reading. Has anyone experienced this or can confirm?

Lastly, I’m considering upgrading my smart light switches and wondering if I should switch from Z-Wave to Zigbee. With rumors of the next SmartThings hub supporting Matter but excluding Z-Wave, I’m contemplating whether it’s time to embrace Zigbee for future compatibility. Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Overall, my journey with smart home devices has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m eager to hear others’ thoughts and experiences. Let’s keep the discussions flowing and continue learning from each other!
