I’ve been really enjoying my GOVEE products lately! Their smart plugs and lighting solutions have been a great addition to my home setup. I wanted to share my experience and also ask the community for some advice on integrating devices with OpenHAB.
First, I’d like to highlight how impressed I am with GOVEE’s plug-and-play functionality. The fact that their devices are marked as “Works with Google” makes them incredibly user-friendly, especially for someone like me who is still getting comfortable with smart home ecosystems. However, I’ve noticed that some of their plugs tend to wear out over time, particularly if you move your setup around frequently. I’ve had this happen with my DIY Air Hockey Table lights, and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this or has tips on how to extend their lifespan.
On the integration front, I’ve been exploring how to connect my non-Nest devices (like my GOVEE plugs) with OpenHAB using Google Home as a bridge. I’m curious if others have successfully used the Nest Binding for this purpose or if there are alternative methods, such as custom scripts using the Google Home API. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
Lastly, I’d love to hear about others’ experiences with GOVEE products. Have you found any features particularly useful or any areas where you think GOVEE could improve? Let’s share our thoughts and help each other make the most out of these devices! ![]()
