I’ve recently added some Govee RGBIC light strips to my setup, and I’m absolutely thrilled with how they’ve transformed my space! 
I wanted to share a few tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way, in case anyone else is looking to integrate these lights into their home automation system.First off, I’ve been using the Govee H617A strips to backlight some custom pedestals I had made. The 16.4-foot length is perfect for wrapping around the back, but I’ve also considered cutting the excess if needed. If you’re thinking about doing the same, I’d recommend using a clean, sharp cutter to ensure a smooth edge. Just be sure to test the connection afterward to avoid any unexpected issues!Another thing I’ve been experimenting with is the integration into the Govee app. I’ve found that setting up custom scenes and schedules has really taken my lighting game to the next level. For example, I’ve programmed a gradual warm-up in the mornings and a cool-down at night, which has made my mornings and evenings feel much more relaxing. 
One thing I’m still curious about is whether these strips are compatible with older Govee models. If anyone has experience with this, I’d love to hear your insights!
