I’ve been really impressed with the Govee door and window sensors I received in my Christmas box! They’ve been a fantastic addition to my smart home setup. I immediately set one up on my garage door and tied it to one of my lights for a quick automation project. My goal was to have the lights flash if my kids left the door open for more than a minute, and return to white once it was closed. It worked perfectly at first, but I noticed something interesting after using it for a while. The delay seemed to trigger regardless of whether another automation was active. For example, if my kids opened and then quickly closed the door, the lights would still flash for the open trigger. I’m currently brainstorming a workaround for this, but I’d love to hear if anyone has any creative solutions!
Another feature I’d love to explore is integrating these sensors with Alexa. I’d love for the sensor to trigger a voice notification, like “Garage door open,” but I’m not sure if this is possible with the current setup. If anyone has experience with this or can offer some guidance, I’d really appreciate it!
Overall, I’m really happy with how these sensors are working out. They’re reliable, easy to set up, and have already added a nice layer of convenience to my home. If you’re considering Govee sensors, I’d highly recommend them! ![]()
