I’ve been exploring the integration of Govee smart lighting with my existing Hubitat and Ubiquiti setup, and I must say, it’s been a fantastic journey! ![]()
Starting with my living room, I decided to replace my traditional RGBGenie ZV-1008 Z-Wave driver with a Lifx strip. The goal was to enhance the lighting experience behind my TV while maintaining seamless integration with my IoT ecosystem. Initially, I faced some network provisioning challenges, but after some troubleshooting, I got everything up and running smoothly on my private network.
The Govee H5124 vibration sensor has been a game-changer for monitoring subtle movements in my home. It’s incredibly sensitive and provides reliable alerts, which has given me peace of mind. Pairing this with my Hubitat system allows for automated responses, such as turning on lights or adjusting the thermostat, creating a truly smart living environment.
One of my favorite projects has been setting up a walk-in cigar humidor. Using Govee lights and sensors, I’ve been able to maintain consistent humidity levels and automate the humidifier and fans. It’s amazing how technology can enhance even the most niche hobbies! ![]()
I’d love to hear from others who have integrated Govee devices with their systems. What creative projects have you undertaken? Any tips or tricks for optimizing these integrations? Let’s share and inspire each other! ![]()
