I recently purchased the Govee Table Lamp 2 Pro x Sound by JBL, and I must say, it’s been a fantastic addition to my living space! The design is sleek, and the lighting effects are absolutely stunning. However, I wanted to share my experience and some tips for others who might be considering this lamp.
One feature I was particularly excited about was the Bluetooth speaker functionality. I envisioned being able to stream music directly from my Alexa or other smart devices. Unfortunately, I encountered some challenges. The lamp only connects to handheld devices like phones, which means I can’t link it directly to my Alexa. While I understand this limitation, it’s a bit disappointing because I’d love to integrate it seamlessly with my smart home setup.
Despite this, I’ve found a workaround that works well for me. I use my phone as a intermediary, which allows me to play music through the lamp’s speaker. The sound quality is excellent, and the lamp adds a nice ambiance to my room. However, I do wish there was a way to connect it directly to my smart devices without relying on my phone. It would also be great if Govee added the ability to control the lamp’s speaker through voice commands in the future.
Another thing I wanted to mention is the RGB lighting modes. They’re vibrant and customizable, which is perfect for creating different moods in my space. I especially love the music mode, which syncs the lighting with the beat of the music. It’s a small detail, but it really enhances the overall experience.
If you’re considering purchasing this lamp, I’d recommend it for its style and functionality. Just be aware of the Bluetooth limitations and keep your expectations realistic. I’m hopeful that Govee will continue to improve this product and add more smart home integration features in the future.
