Hey everyone! Just wanted to share some exciting updates from Govee and how I finally got my pergola lighting setup working perfectly. ![]()
First off, Govee has been rolling out some awesome updates lately! I’ve been playing around with their fishing game and completing the holiday light survey, which is worth 50 points—definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already! Plus, there’s a new opportunity to be part of the next app update, which is pretty cool. I’m really excited to see what they come up with next!
Now, onto my pergola lighting setup! It’s been a journey, but I finally got everything up and running. I purchased 48ft of RGBIC strip lights, thinking they’d fit perfectly on my pergola (13x10). I have to admit, I was a bit nervous about whether they’d fit, but they ended up being a perfect match!
I spent months waterproofing them, using durable silicone to seal the connections and purchasing a waterproof box and clips to ensure everything stayed dry. The weather was a bit of a challenge, but I managed to hang them just in time before the rain set in.
Here’s how they look during the day:

And at night, they really come to life!
I’ve been experimenting with different color combinations using the Govee app, and it’s been so much fun creating different moods for various occasions. I’m especially impressed with how easy it is to adjust the brightness and colors through the app.
If you’re thinking about setting up something similar, here are a few tips I’d recommend:
- Measure your space carefully before purchasing to ensure everything fits perfectly.
- Invest in high-quality waterproofing materials to protect your lights from the elements.
- Don’t hesitate to reach out to the Govee community for advice or troubleshooting tips—they’re super helpful!
I’m really happy with how everything turned out and can’t wait to enjoy these lights for years to come. If you’ve got any lighting setup tips or experiences to share, I’d love to hear them! ![]()
