I’ve recently transitioned from the classic SmartThings app to the new Samsung SmartThings app and I’m really enjoying the improved interface and additional features. However, I’m trying to replicate a functionality I used to have with my bedroom lights that I really miss. Back in the classic app, I could set up my dimmers to slowly increase the brightness over a specific period of time, which was incredibly helpful for waking up gently in the mornings.
Now, I’d love to achieve the same thing with the new app. My goal is to have my bedroom lights gradually brighten to 60% over the course of about 15 minutes starting at 6am. I’ve heard that automations can be created using routines, but I’m not entirely sure how to set this up with the new app. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to achieve this smooth transition?
I’ve tried setting up a routine with multiple steps, but it doesn’t seem to be working as smoothly as I’d like. Any advice or alternative methods would be greatly appreciated! I’m really hoping to find a way to make this happen as it would make waking up in the winter months much more pleasant.
If anyone has successfully implemented something similar, I’d love to hear about your setup and any tricks you used to make it work perfectly. Thanks in advance for your help!
