Gree AC control

Hi

I have an idea but struggling to make it work.
I have Gree AC and I want my door& window sensor to turn off the AC if the window is open more the 5 minutes. Anyone has idea how to make it work? With out home assistant(planing to implement it just not now )
Thanks

Gotcha — but which sensor are you using?

On my Door & Window Sensor P1, there’s an option “Opened for over”. Set it to 5 min and you’re done:

Opened for over 5 min → Turn off AC.

If your sensor doesn’t have that, tell me — I’ve got a backup idea with two linked automations (just need to test it first).

And remember: your car shouldn’t be smarter than your house! :red_car::house:

The idea is good, but unfortunately I cannot control the AC from Aqara application and cannot choose the setting you mentioned in the Google home automation either:/

Ok, got it. I’m not familiar with Google Home myself, but can it react to Matter signals?

If yes, you could create a Matter signal in Aqara that is sent exactly when the window has been open for more than 5 minutes. Google Home could receive that signal and use it to turn off the AC.

If Google Home can’t receive Matter signals, I’d connect both environments through Home Assistant. That might be a bit of an overkill if it’s just for this one automation – but it would work.

Don’t forget: If your car is smarter than your house… you’re driving into the future while living in the past. :red_car::house:

Well Google home handles matter but the problem it cannot delay action…there for it can turn it off but instantly which is not good for me:/
I thought that we will cone to home assistant at the end , and i already have a PC for that just didn’t feel the energy to start the project and thought maybe someone knows an easy way without HA.
