Halloween Automation Setup Guide
With Halloween just around the corner, I wanted to share my setup for automating my home to welcome trick-or-treaters. I’ve used a combination of smart bulbs, motion sensors, and a Sonos speaker to create a spooky yet fun atmosphere!
Here’s what I used:
- IKEA SYMFONISK Sonos speaker for playing eerie sounds or themed music.
- Wiz color Wi-Fi light bulb to set the mood with different colors.
- Neo Coolcam motion sensor to trigger the automation when someone approaches.
How it works:
- Motion detected by the Neo Coolcam sensor.
- The Wiz bulb changes to orange and flickers to mimic a jack-o’-lantern.
- The Sonos speaker plays a spooky sound effect or a pre-recorded message like, “Trick or treat!”
