For the front porch, I wanted something a bit more interactive. I’ve paired my smart lights with motion sensors to trigger spooky sound effects when trick-or-treaters approach. It’s a fun way to greet guests without having to stay by the door!
One thing I’ve been curious about is using virtual switches to enable or disable specific scenes. For example, I’d love to have a single button that turns on all my Halloween decorations with the touch of a finger. Does anyone have experience with plugins or rules that can make this happen?
Another project I’ve been working on is setting up a secondary panel to monitor all my devices in one place. It’s been a bit challenging, but I’m hopeful it’ll streamline my smart home management. Any thoughts or recommendations on this?
Lastly, I’ve been exploring the idea of integrating Google Home aliases for my lights. It would be fantastic to have multiple names for the same light, like “Couch Light” and “Head Light,” to make voice commands more versatile. Has anyone found a smooth way to implement this without workarounds?
