Halloween Lights and Smart Home Integration

As Halloween approaches, I’ve been thinking about how to integrate my smart home devices into the festive decorations. I’ve successfully set up my outdoor lights to change scenes automatically, creating a spooky yet cool ambiance! :jack_o_lantern::sparkles:

However, I’ve encountered a challenge with my Vera 2 system. I want to control my existing Radio Ra installation alongside my Z-Wave devices without replacing my extensive lighting setup. I’ve managed to use my Universal Remote (MSC-400) to send serial commands, but I’m curious if Vera 2 offers enough flexibility for this without needing a dealer. Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated! :brain::bulb:

On another note, I’ve found that using RGBIC strips with a diffuser not only enhances the aesthetic but also provides better lighting quality. I’m considering running these along my bedroom ceiling for a softer glow. Has anyone tried this and have recommendations? :star2:

Overall, it’s exciting to see how smart technology can enhance seasonal celebrations while maintaining the convenience of home automation. Happy Halloween everyone! :jack_o_lantern:
