The holiday season is here, and what better way to celebrate than by creating a festive atmosphere with smart home technology? This year, I decided to take my Hanukkah celebrations to the next level by setting up automated menorah lights using my smart home system. It was a fun project that combined creativity with technology, and I’d love to share my experience with you!
I started by searching for pre-made Hanukkah themes for my curtain lights, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find any that suited my needs. Instead of getting discouraged, I decided to create my own! I designed a theme for each night of Hanukkah, allowing me to schedule each night separately to show the correct number of lit candles. Alternatively, you can use the eighth-night theme to display a fully lit menorah throughout the holiday.
The process was surprisingly straightforward. I used my smart home app to program the lights and set up a simple automation that changes the theme each night. It’s been a joy to come home each evening and see the lights automatically transition to the next night’s display. My family and neighbors have been impressed, and it’s added a special touch to our celebrations.
