I’ve been exploring ways to enhance my smart home setup, and one feature that’s been on my wishlist is the ability to use hardware inputs to trigger routines. Imagine having a wall-mounted switch or a remote control that can activate specific scenes or routines in my home! This would add a whole new layer of convenience and control.
I came across some interesting devices like the Leviton Vizia RF 4-Button Scene Controller and the Zipato Z-Wave Remote (PSR03) that seem perfect for this purpose. The idea is to integrate these devices into my existing smart home ecosystem so I can create routines that are easily accessible through physical buttons or remotes. For example, a single press could turn on my evening lights, lower the blinds, and set the thermostat to a comfortable temperature.
I’m curious if anyone else has implemented something similar or if there are any workarounds to achieve this functionality until it’s officially supported. My home has about 100 potential use cases for this, so I’m really hoping to find a solution or at least some insights from the community!
If you’ve got any tips, tricks, or experiences to share, I’d love to hear them. Let’s brainstorm together and see how we can make this vision a reality!
