Heating Control and Sensor Integration: A Smart Home Vision

Hi everyone! I’m new to the world of smart home automation and I’m really excited to share my vision and get some advice from the community. :star2:

My goal is to create a smart home system that integrates heating, lighting, and sensors, all controlled through a central app. I live in a two-story house with central heating, and I want to ensure that the temperature is consistent throughout the house while being energy-efficient. :house_with_garden:暖气

Here’s what I’m thinking: I’d like to use a thermostat on the first floor and place sensors on both floors, especially on the second floor where it tends to be colder. The idea is that if any sensor detects a temperature below 24°C, the heating turns on, and if all sensors show above 26°C, the heating turns off. This way, I can maintain a comfortable temperature without wasting energy. :thermometer:

I’ve been looking into different thermostats and sensors, but I’m not sure how to connect everything seamlessly. I know Ecobee isn’t available in the Czech Republic, and while Netatmo is an option, I’m not sure how to integrate multiple sensors. I’ve also heard about Z-Wave thermostats and Zigbee sensors, but I’m not familiar with how they work with Homey or other platforms.

Another thing I’d love to set up is a weekly and monthly heating schedule, including holidays. It would be great to have the system adjust automatically based on predefined dates. :spiral_calendar:

If anyone has experience with similar setups or can recommend specific devices and configurations, I’d be incredibly grateful! I’m really looking forward to hearing your thoughts and learning from your experiences.
