Help - I’m all over the place

Hello, I am looking to simplify my home automations. I have Aqara lock, hue lighting, eufy cameras, smart things plugs. I have to go to multiple apps to turn on/off things. Does HomeKit have the ability to have everything in one place? I need simplicity.

Hello and welcome.

Apple Home (HomeKit) is very limited in its functions unless you use an additional app that uses HomeKit and can do more.

If you’re really looking for something that does everything in one place, then you need something like Home Assistant or Homey.

I have a similar situation and have turned to Home Assistant. It can be a bit daunting to get set up, but if you are comfortable using an LLM, they can help speed things up: Using Claude Code to manage your Home Assistant config is pretty amazing - Share your Projects! - Home Assistant Community

But if you want basic control - then yes, you can connect all those systems to HomeKit via Matter.

You just need to have a Matter-enabled (or HomeKit-enabled) hub for each of the ecosystems. And you also need an Apple hub that is: a HomePod, a HomePod Mini or an Apple TV.

Optionally, it you have an M3 hub, you can connect Eufy, Hue and SmartThings via Matter to the Aqara app and control everything from there. You won’t need an Apple hub for this setup.

Then, after connecting each ecosystem via Matter or HomeKit to Apple Home, you will be able to see most of your devices there. But you will need to keep the Aqara, Hue, Eufy or SmartThings app for more advanced settings.

But if you want more control or more advanced features, most people recommend integrating everything into HomeAssistant
