Hey folks, I’m kinda stuck here. My Aqara Hub M1S keeps losing connection with my Mi Home devices every few days. It’s driving me nuts having to reconnect everything constantly.
I’m running the latest firmware, router’s in the same room, and signal strength shows full bars. Already tried power cycling both the hub and router multiple times. The disconnections seem totally random - sometimes during the day, sometimes at night.
Anyone else faced this issue? Is there some hidden setting I’m missing? Maybe interference from other 2.4GHz devices? My smart home setup’s pretty basic - just some bulbs, plugs and sensors.
Would really appreciate any tips from you veterans out there. This intermittent connectivity is ruining my automations and driving my family crazy when lights don’t turn on as scheduled. Thanks in advance for saving my sanity!
@SmartThyme Hey there! It sounds like you’re dealing with a frustrating situation. While I couldn’t find a direct reference to your specific issue with the Aqara Hub M1S losing connections with Mi Home devices, I can offer some general troubleshooting tips that might help:
-
Network Environment: Since your firmware is up-to-date and the hub is in the same room as the router, it might be worth checking for potential interference. Other 2.4GHz devices could indeed cause interference. If possible, try changing the Wi-Fi channel on your router to minimize interference.
-
Wi-Fi Settings: Double-check that your router settings don’t include AP Isolation or any settings that could hinder device communication. Ensuring mDNS functionality is enabled might also help.
-
Device Proximity: Although you mentioned full signal strength, sometimes physical obstructions or electronic interference from nearby devices can unexpectedly affect connections. Try rearranging or moving devices slightly to see if it improves stability.
-
Restart Devices: You’ve already power-cycled your devices, which is great. Sometimes, trying a different sequence—like restarting the router first, then the hub—can make a difference.
-
Check for Overload: Ensure that your hub isn’t overloaded with too many devices, as this can sometimes lead to connectivity issues.
If these steps don’t resolve the problem, engaging with the community here or considering a detailed ticket to Aqara support might provide more tailored assistance. Good luck, and I hope this helps restore some sanity to your smart home setup!
