Help with automation home&away

I am new to Aqara and I purchased my first device - Aqara Camera Hub G3.

Its working great but I can’t seem to get my automation to disable my camera when I am in the area working. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.

I have it setup as follows:

  1. 1 Devices anyone arrives in the area with MY ADDRESS - Geofencing) then turn off camera
  2. 1 Devices anyone leaves the area with address - Geofencing) then turn on camera

It’s worked a few times but majority of the time I am home and the camera is following me and sending notifications when it should be disabled. Just to let you know I have allow always on for location services under the app, I have made sure that my phone is not on power saving mode etc…

I don’t want to keep the Privacy and security mode enabled because I am in and out of the house on different days and nights each week.

Can anyone suggest how I fix this issue?

Hi, welcome to the forum. Show me the automations you’ve created, screen.
The peculiarity of geolocation lies in the high-quality cellular network.

I suggest using two options. Off with a hand gesture. Fig.

On using geolocation, left the area.

I use it like this because of poor mobile network coverage.

My issue is that I can’t find gesture as trigger condition, but I am going to try using “I’m home” as a voice control to disable the camera

You have to turn on “Gesture Detection” under “AI Detection” in the device settings.

To use Siri, you can create a scene in Aqara Home with the action “turn off camera”. Give it the name “I’m home”. In the scene overview, scroll down to find the “edit” button. Select your scene and tap on “Add to Apple”.

By the way, it sometimes also helps to increase the geofence area using a two-finger pinch, like when zooming out.
