Hive Finally Adds Official HomeKit Support – Exciting Update!

I’m really excited to share that Hive, the British Gas smart thermostat company, has finally added official HomeKit support! This has been a long-awaited feature for many of us, especially after the initial delays. I’ve been using Hive devices for a while now, and integrating them with HomeKit opens up a whole new level of smart home automation.

Setting it up was surprisingly straightforward. After updating my Hive Hub to the latest firmware, I just needed to enable the HomeKit option within the Hive app. Once that was done, my Hive thermostat, lights, and plugs appeared seamlessly in the Home app on my iPhone. It’s amazing how effortlessly everything connected without any hiccups.

One thing to note is that the older Hive Hub models aren’t compatible, so if you’re still using one, it might be worth upgrading. The process is smooth, and the integration with Apple’s ecosystem is top-notch.

I’ve already started creating routines in Shortcuts that combine my Hive devices with other HomeKit accessories. For example, a morning routine that adjusts the thermostat and turns on the lights all from one action. It’s incredibly convenient and has really enhanced my smart home experience.

If you’re a Hive user, I highly recommend checking out the official FAQs on their website for detailed setup instructions. It’s a great step forward for Hive and a win for HomeKit users!

I’d love to hear how others are integrating Hive with HomeKit and what creative automations you’ve come up with. Let’s share our experiences and make the most of this exciting update!
