I recently had the opportunity to update my two HMIP-BSM devices on the CCU2, and I wanted to share my experience with the community. Overall, the process was smooth, but there were a few unexpected twists that made it an interesting journey.
The first update was straightforward. It took about 10.5 hours to complete, which seemed quite long, but I was reassured that the update itself only took a couple of seconds under the hood. The device remained functional throughout, and I could still control it wirelessly, which was a huge plus. The only minor inconvenience was that the switch became unresponsive during the final stages of the update, but wireless control kept everything running smoothly.
The second update was almost identical in duration and behavior. However, this time, I encountered a small hiccup. After completing the update, the device didn’t respond to manual switches, but wireless control still worked perfectly. This was a bit puzzling, but I quickly realized that a simple reset and relearning process in the CCU2 would solve the issue. After resetting the device and relearning it, everything returned to normal.
One funny moment during the update was when the lights in my bedroom turned on automatically. My wife was sleeping, and the sudden light woke her up. It was a good reminder to be cautious about the timing of such updates in the future!
For anyone considering updating their HMIP-BSM devices, I’d say go for it. The process is reliable, and the device’s ability to stay functional via wireless control during the update is a great feature. If you run into any issues, a quick reset and relearning should get everything back on track.
Happy updating, and if you have any questions or tips, feel free to share them below!
