Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with setting up themes on Home Assistant Cast for my Google Nest Hub. I’ve been using Home Assistant for a while now, and I absolutely love how customizable it is. However, I ran into a little snag when trying to apply themes to specific Lovelace pages on my Nest Hub. 
Initially, everything looked perfect on my laptop and phone, but when I checked the Nest Hub, the theme’s background wasn’t showing up. It was just the cards with no background color or image. I was a bit puzzled because the theme worked elsewhere, so I knew it wasn’t the theme itself. I started digging into the settings and even looked through some community posts to see if others had encountered the same issue. 
After a bit of trial and error, I discovered that the theme wasn’t being applied because of a missing configuration line in my configuration.yaml file. Once I added the necessary line to explicitly tell Home Assistant to apply the background settings to the Nest Hub, everything fell into place! The background now displays beautifully, and my dashboards look exactly how I envisioned them. 
For anyone else who might be facing this issue, here’s a quick tip: Make sure your theme configuration includes a directive to apply the background settings to your specific device. This small tweak can make a world of difference in how your Home Assistant setup looks on different devices. 
It’s amazing how a little tweak can solve such a frustrating problem. I’m now fully enjoying my themed dashboards on the Nest Hub, and it’s a great reminder of how powerful and flexible Home Assistant is. Happy theming everyone!
