I am using A100 Zigbee and Aqara Hub. All set up win Apple Home App, but there is no home key. Before it was working but now I even cannot find a Home Key anywhere. Removed and added accessories in Home App but the prompt does not show any Home Key while installing. Any ideas?
@Expert hi there, can you help?
Hi @akaki! Welcome to the forum.
HomeKey is managed under both the lock and your user profile in the Apple Home app. After your first HomeKey lock is set up, additional supported locks should offer HomeKey automatically. You don’t need to redo Wallet setup.
In Apple Home:
Tap the … > Home Settings → People → Your Name.
Make sure the A100 is listed. From there you can verify Show Home Key in Wallet and check your access code options.
In the Wallet app:
Open your Home Key pass and confirm Tap to Unlock is enabled.
If setup fails, restart your Home hub (HomePod or Apple TV). The hub is required to create the HomeKey, but unlocking afterwards is direct between your phone and the lock via NFC.
Hi Robert, thanks. There is nothing under People there. Also when I adding again in Home App the prompt for Key does not show up. I can add everything but the Key does not appear. There is also nothing in wallet.
You don’t even see your own name? What is your homekit controller/hub?
I see my name and that is all. I Can do nothing else. I use Aqara Hub E1. I had home key before but do not know what happened.
What homekit hub/controller do you use? Apple TV or Homepods?
Non of them, I use Aqara Hub E1. It was working before fine, but maybe new iOS restricts it I do not know.
Just to confirm, you are saying HomeKey did work for this device, but stopped working?
Do you have more than one HomeKey compatible lock or is the A100 your first attempt at using the feature?
Did this change in behavior coincide with any recent iOS updates? If so, you may want to contact Apple.
I think a lot of the missing functions/settings here are because you don’t have a HomeKit hub - no remote access, or home sharing options, managing multiple users, etc… Without a home hub you also can’t have more than one HomeKey enabled device or use express mode.
Of course I would always try rebooting your phone and the hub, but you probably did this already.
Yes it did work fine like that. I have only one. I think updating iOS to 26 changes it maybe Apple restricted using Home Key without apple tv or hub.
There’s nothing documented, but it could be a bug. There are some other HomeKit bugs introduced ios26. Let’s wait for the next update and see.
Fixed it by reseting the lock. Seems like bug were inside aqara app after update to smart 2.0. Mow even some interfaces are changed. Thanks for your attention.
