So in the Netherlands we have a lot of heating networks provided by local governement called “stads verwarming” (city heating) as a regular thermostat doesn´t work you needed to buy a google nest thermostat however google decided to quit support and there are not a lot of new solutions. Maybe the Aqara version sold in the US vcan be modified for Europe. It can be super easy it only needs an off/on switch based on temp. So new business for you in Europe please consider this and i will be willing to be a tester

From Aqara’s current thermostat lineup in the community docs, the closest “Europe-ready” option is the Aqara Floor Heating Thermostat W500, which is explicitly listed for EU / RU / CIS markets. It supports multiple control methods (buttons, app, voice, schedules) and can run schedules locally on the device once set. On the connectivity side, it has dual protocol support (Thread/Zigbee); in Thread mode it can join third-party Matter ecosystems without an Aqara hub, while Zigbee mode unlocks more Aqara-specific features and works with classic Aqara Zigbee hubs.
If you’re specifically looking for an on/off relay-style thermostat compatible with your city-heating interface, I don’t have enough confirmed info in the provided references to say whether W500 (or any US model) can be safely “modified” for that wiring scenario—so I wouldn’t want to guess.
What I can suggest: share your exact wiring/interface requirements (e.g., dry contact, 230V switched output, OpenTherm, etc.) with Aqara support as a product suggestion / compatibility question, and offer to beta test there too.

Hi thanks for the answer, i have looked in to the W500 and i saw it will not work as it has not a real on/off mode on the NTC, for me the best would be if you raise the temp. it sends an on signal if it reaches the set temparature it switches off again. The NTC is a heat sensitive resistor that only knows the difference between warm and cold not a specific setting, or is it more advanced ? then it could work if it reactes to the set temp. i will add a diagram from the nest thermostat that takes 12volts and connects wireless to the heatlink box on that box you will see 2 wires to feed the thermostat with 12v, a 220v connection and a connection to the heater that has the on off setting i desire.

just 1 the livingroom the rest is all manual radiator valves and almost always on freeze protection

Yep that´s why i replied to the AI question that came from Aqara, let´s see there is a huge opportunity in NL for this as the Ring is cancelled and the Tado is a piece of plastic with all important things behind a bloody subscription

Valve open, it is getting warmer in the room. Valve closed it’s cooling down. That is normal

It is not special at all it is a simple on/off switch that has to go on at a desired temp and off when it reaches it. The thing is i can buy a standard one that will work, the google nest i have is discontinued and the app is switched off, there is one replacemnt thats the Tado x but i don´t like it as it is a cheap plastic version with a subscription model. so I just want a thread/matter Thermostat that i can contral with an app that does this stupid on/off but it has to be simple and also be operated via a unit in the livingroom as my wife would kill me if i make it a flow or app only . Si if you have a suggestion that does this…
The nest is wireless (only 12v power) and has a receiver mounted in the boiler room, so just something simulair to this is fine preferred from Aqara !

I used W500 with an additional relay to create dry contacts. As an additional remote controller I use W100. This turns out a classic improvised thermostat from Aqara. Everything works perfectly.
By the way, the W500 has a reasonable daily schedule.
I have seen the w500 but that one needs a 220v power and it has an NTC connection not real on/off where did you mount the relay to and what type ?

NTC can be omitted, it is optional in W500.
220 volt relay with dry contacts. Winding contacts on the W500 output. Dry contacts of the relay on the boiler.
