After a lot of trial and error, I finally managed to set up HomeKit integration using Homebridge on my Raspberry Pi!
It’s such a game-changer to control all my lights via Siri and even set them to adaptive lighting. The feature that changes the colour temperature throughout the day based on my circadian rhythm is amazing! ![]()
However, I did run into a few hiccups along the way. For instance, I struggled with getting the accessory discovery to work initially. If anyone else is facing this, I highly recommend checking your network settings and ensuring that mDNS is properly configured. Also, don’t forget to disable any firewall rules that might be blocking the necessary ports!
Another tip I’d like to share is organizing your HomeKit accessories into logical rooms or zones. This makes it so much easier to control them through scenes or automations. I’ve also found that using third-party apps like Eve or Home+ can provide additional customization options for your HomeKit setup.
If you’re just starting out with HomeKit, don’t get discouraged by the initial learning curve. The community here is super helpful, and there are tons of resources available. Happy integrating! ![]()
