HomeKit Security Not Triggering

Hoping for some insight on an issue I’ve been having with my Aqara M1S Gen 2 hub and its exposed security system notifications. About a couple of months ago I realized whenever I arm the security system for Away or Night and trigger the system I don’t receive the notification. It used to appear in HomeKit as “Security System is Triggered” as well as an Aqara notification. Any insight onto why it’s not showing in HomeKit would be greatly appreciated!

@nick1029 It sounds like you’re experiencing some issues with the notifications on your Aqara M1S Gen 2 hub when arming the security system in “Away” or “Night” mode. Based on the reference information available, here are a few insights that might help:

  1. System Activation and Notification: Once the security system is armed, such as in the “Away” or “Night” modes, any triggered event should initiate an alarm on all Aqara hubs and send push notifications through the Aqara Home app. If these notifications are not appearing, it might be due to a configuration issue or a possible disconnect between the Aqara system and HomeKit.

  2. Alert System Configuration: Make sure that your alert system is correctly configured in the Aqara Home app. You can edit the alert system settings to ensure that the correct Aqara devices are selected as trigger devices. Once set up, these alerts should arm in both the Aqara app and HomeKit.

  3. HomeKit Compatibility: Since HomeKit options are determined by Apple, certain customizable settings might not be available. Ensure that your HomeKit and Aqara systems are both updated to the latest firmware versions.

  4. Troubleshooting Steps:

    • Check for any updates in both the Aqara Home app and HomeKit.
    • Ensure that your hub and devices are connected and online.
    • Try re-adding your Aqara hub to HomeKit to refresh the connection.

You may try to rigger Security System as follow steps:
The Window and Door Sensor must be set as a trigger device. It is necessary to set it first in the HomeKit mode of the Aqara Home APP. The specific steps are as follows:

  1. Add Window and Door Sensor to the Aqara Hub; Go to Accessories page in Homekit , select the Aqara Hub and open the detail page, select “Alarm Trigger Devices” - “Away”, and select the Door Sensor as the Away Mode Trigger Device.
  2. Set the Security System Target State to Away.
  3. Open the door, it will trigger an alarm and the Security System Current State will turn to “Alarm Triggered”.

If I try and do what you suggested in HomeKit Only mode, it seems like for some reason when I click to enable it as a trigger, it doesn’t set it correctly. When I go in and out of the away trigger page it goes back to being unchecked
