Hi all, I’ve been diving into setting up Homematic on my Raspberry Pi and wanted to share my experiences and some questions I have. I’ve been using Rasberrymatic for a while now, but I’ve heard great things about OpenCCU and decided to give it a try.
First, I backed up my current setup to ensure I didn’t lose any configurations. Then, I downloaded the OpenCCU image for Raspberry Pi 3 and followed the installation guide. The process went smoothly, but I’m a bit unsure about how the Homematic(IP) Local integration in Home Assistant will interact with the updated OpenCCU setup. Does anyone have experience with this transition? I’d love to hear if there are specific settings I need to adjust in HA to maintain functionality.
Another thing I’m curious about is optimizing the Raspberry Pi for better performance. I’ve heard that increasing the swap space can help, but I’m not entirely sure how to do this without risking stability. Has anyone here tinkered with swap settings on their Pi and noticed a difference in performance?
Lastly, I’m exploring the possibility of integrating multiple brands of smart devices under one roof. While Homematic is my base, I’d like to incorporate some Zigbee devices for better coverage. Are there any challenges others have faced with mixed ecosystems, and how did you overcome them?
I’m really excited to see how this setup evolves and would appreciate any advice or experiences you all can share. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other navigate the world of smart home integration! ![]()
