Hello everyone, I’m currently in the planning phase of setting up a smart home system and have decided to go with Homematic IP. After researching various options like Z-Wave and Zigbee, I found Homematic IP to be a solid choice due to its comprehensive component selection and ease of use. I’ve been using Shelly relays so far, but I’m looking to integrate them into a more cohesive system.
For now, I plan to start with the basics—thermostats, window contacts, and the HomeMatic Access Point. My goal is to set everything up quickly and efficiently using the app, without getting too deep into custom configurations. However, I’m excited about the possibility of expanding into more complex automation in the future, like integrating infrared heaters and creating weather-dependent heating plans.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with Homematic IP, especially regarding its flexibility for future projects. Is there anything I should be aware of when planning for scalability? Any tips or pitfalls to avoid would be greatly appreciated!
