Hello everyone, I’ve been using Homematic IP thermostats for controlling my underfloor heating, and they’ve been a great addition to my smart home setup. However, I’ve recently come across a small challenge that I wanted to share and hopefully get some advice on.
In one of my rooms, the existing mechanical thermostat is installed in a double-gang wall socket with a 2-gang frame. While I could replace the 2-gang frame with a single one, the new Homematic IP thermostat doesn’t fit neatly over it, leaving a rather unsightly gap. Since I don’t need manual temperature control in this room, I’m wondering if there’s a way to install an under-sink thermostat from Homematic that I can mount in the empty wall socket and then cover with a decorative plate. This way, I could control the thermostat solely through the app, which would be ideal.
I’ve searched through the official Homematic IP website and various forums, but I haven’t found any information on such a product. Has anyone else encountered this issue or found a workaround? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
Best regards,
