Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with my Homematic setup. I’ve been using it for weeks, and everything was working perfectly—until two days ago when everything just stopped. ![]()
I primarily use it for controlling my roller shutters and monitoring temperature and humidity in my rooms. The setup includes a Homematic CCU3 gateway and several HmIP-BROLL devices for the shutters, along with HmIP-BWTH thermostats for temperature and humidity sensing.
Here’s what happened: My Homematic devices suddenly stopped responding. I checked the logs and noticed warnings about devices not being found on the gateway. After a restart, some interfaces like WIRED and CUXD were disabled, but the Homematic IP support remained active. The devices still showed up in the PaperUI, but none of the items were responding.
I decided to dive into the configuration and noticed that the device addresses in my items file matched the ones in the gateway. I also checked the network settings to ensure everything was on the same subnet. After some trial and error, I realized that the issue might be related to the gateway’s firmware or a temporary network glitch.
To fix it, I performed a factory reset on the CCU3 gateway and re-added all my devices through the Homematic configuration tool. This process took some time, but it worked! Now, all my roller shutters and sensors are responding perfectly again. ![]()
For anyone else experiencing similar issues, here are a few tips:
- Always ensure your gateway firmware is up to date.
- Double-check network settings and device IP addresses.
- If in doubt, perform a factory reset and reconfigure your devices.
It’s amazing how a little troubleshooting can bring everything back to life. I’m really grateful for the Homematic community and the resources available to help us solve these issues. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this journey! ![]()
