Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to see if anyone else has encountered and potentially resolved an issue I’m facing with the Homematic1.x add-on in OpenHAB. I recently switched to this add-on due to a critical bug in the default Homematic Binding included in OpenHAB 2.4.0. While the add-on seems promising, I’m running into a significant problem where it can’t establish a connection to my piVCCU3. The error logs indicate a ‘Read timed out’ issue, which I suspect is related to the transition from BinRPC to XMLRPC in the firmware update to version 3.41.11.
I followed the documentation’s advice to enable HM-IP support by setting homematicIP.enabled=true in the configuration. However, the issue persists, and the logs still reference BinRPC instead of XMLRPC. Upon reviewing the binding’s source code, I noticed that the setting doesn’t seem to be properly implemented, which makes me question the accuracy of the documentation.
I understand that the 1.x binding is no longer actively maintained, but I believe this issue might affect other OpenHAB1 users who haven’t migrated yet.
