Homey Energy Dongle Problem Solved

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Homey Energy Dongle since I recently encountered an issue and managed to resolve it. Hopefully, this can help others who might be facing similar problems!

Over the weekend, I set up my new Homey Pro (early 2023 model) and connected the Energy Dongle. Everything worked perfectly at first—visible in the Energy tab, showing accurate data. However, this morning, the dongle went offline. I tried removing it from the meter, resetting it, and reconfiguring it, but it remained offline in the Energy tab. Even after restarting the Homey, it didn’t show up.

After some research and troubleshooting, I discovered that the issue might be related to the dongle not being properly recognized after a reset. Here’s what I did to fix it:

  1. Unplug the Homey: This ensures a complete reset of all connected devices.
  2. Remove the Energy Dongle: Take it out of the meter socket.
  3. Reinsert the Dongle: Place it back into the meter socket carefully.
  4. Plug in the Homey: Turn it back on and let it boot up fully.
  5. Reconfigure the Dongle: Go to the devices section and add the Energy Dongle again. It should detect it without issues.

After following these steps, the Energy Dongle reappeared in the Energy tab, and everything started working smoothly again. I was relieved to see it back online!
