Hi everyone, I’m facing a challenge with my Intel NUC during South Africa’s scheduled power outages. I’ve set up a Node-RED routine to shut down my host gracefully before the power is cut off, but it’s becoming a hassle to manually restart it when the power returns. I’ve tried enabling the After Power Failure setting to Power On in the BIOS, but it doesn’t seem to work after a graceful shutdown.
I’ve heard that some systems can be configured to automatically restart after a power failure, but I’m not sure how to implement this on my Intel NUC. Has anyone successfully set up their system to reboot automatically after a power outage? Any tips or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!
Here are a few things I’ve considered:
- BIOS Settings: Double-checking the power settings in the BIOS.
- UPS Integration: Exploring if a UPS could help with seamless power transitions.
- Scheduled Reboots: Setting up a cron job or scheduled task to reboot the system at specific times.
If anyone has experience with this or knows of a reliable method, I’d love to hear your suggestions. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other out!
Best regards,
John
