I bought the Aqara Cube out of curiosity, but after some initial testing I ended up letting the batteries run out because I couldn’t find any truly useful automations for my setup.
So far, the only thing I’ve used it for is changing the color of a few lights in my living room — fun, but not really essential.
I’m sure many of you have found smarter or more creative ways to use the Cube.
How are you integrating it into your automations in standard Aqara APP?
Which gestures or actions have turned out to be genuinely useful in daily life?
I’d love to get some inspiration and understand how to take full advantage of all the features the Cube offers.
I use it in Apple Home. I have configured 5 Apple Home scenes, which play different playlists on my HomePods (like random “Home Radio”, rock music, metal etc) and I have configured the 5 faces to enable each playlist.
I have left one face (the one with the Aqara logo) unconfigured so you can leave the cube this face up and freely move it and it won’t change/restart the music
Hello. I have this, 1- as a dimmer for a lamp on the ceiling and by the bed. 2 - as turning on the heating for additional heating. 3- Turning off the heating. 4- as turning off (control) the lighting in the house before going to bed (if necessary). 5 - turning on the TV and Android TV set-top box (controlling the socket). I forgot to say, the Cube is on the bedside table in the bedroom.
I have the same issue. I love it and I love the idea of it but after I set it up with different programs of turning various lights on and off, I kept forgetting what I had programmed each thing for. I’d love to find a good or fun use for it.
