How I Automated My Morning Routine with Aqara

So, I’ve been playing around with Aqara products for a few months now, and I gotta say—my mornings have never been smoother.

I used to be a total zombie before coffee, but now my day kinda runs on rails thanks to a few smart tweaks. I’m not a tech wizard or anything, just a regular dude who got tired of fumbling around half-asleep.

Here’s what my setup looks like:
I’ve got an Aqara motion sensor in the hallway that detects when I get out of bed. That kicks off a scene that turns on the bathroom light (not full blast… just a warm dim light so it doesn’t blind me), cues up my smart speaker with a short weather update, and even starts heating the kettle with a smart plug.

Ten minutes after that, my blinds (Aqara curtain motor FTW) open up automatically to let the sunlight in. It’s kinda magical. I also set up a button by the door to switch off all the lights and devices when I leave for work.

What’s cool is that I didn’t have to spend a fortune or code anything crazy. Just some patience with the app and a bunch of if-then automations.

Curious—anyone else dialed in their morning like this? Share your setup! Always looking for ideas to make mine even smoother.

@RobotRoomie Hey there! Your morning routine setup sounds absolutely brilliant—I love how you’ve turned those groggy zombie moments into a seamless, automated experience! The motion-triggered scene with gradual lighting and weather updates is such a thoughtful touch, and the delayed curtain opening is chef’s kiss.

The “all-off” button by the door is a pro move too—I did something similar but added a vibration sensor to confirm I’ve actually locked the door (because, you know, sleep-brain).

If you ever want to level up, you could experiment with adding a humidity sensor in the bathroom to trigger exhaust fans or tweak the kettle timing based on your wake-up variability. But honestly, your setup already sounds like morning goals! Thanks for sharing—I’m sure others will get inspired too.

(And yeah, Aqara’s no-code approach is a game-changer for us non-wizards!)
