My mom is 99 and living her best life. She loves nothing more than gathering her family around her, especially when a new grandchild or great-grandchild arrives. But as she’s gotten older, some daily tasks have become a bit more challenging.
That’s where smart home tech has stepped in. We’ve set up a few simple systems that make her life easier without overwhelming her. For example, we connected her lights to voice controls so she can turn them on and off without getting up. We also have smart speakers that play her favorite music and let her stay connected with family through calls.
One of her favorite features is the smart camera we set up in the garden. It lets her see the grandchildren when they come to visit without having to go outside. She loves seeing them through the camera and even uses the two-way talk feature to chat with them.
