First, I’ve decided to go with Ring for doorbell security. I’ve heard great things about their HD version and I’m working with the builders to install a 24VAC chime to make it fully integrated. I’m also using Samsung SmartThings as my hub.
One thing I’m curious about is the Nest Thermostat. I’ve read that it’s not directly Z-Wave compatible, but people seem to manage with a hybrid setup. Has anyone here successfully integrated Nest with Z-Wave devices? Any tips or potential pitfalls I should be aware of?

On the energy front, I’m trying to track my consumption patterns. I’ve set up some basic charts, but I’m struggling with averaging the data over time. Does anyone know how to aggregate hourly data or even split it into weekday vs weekend usage?
Finally, I’m thinking about a smart smoke detector. EU regulations require all detectors to communicate, so I need something reliable and compatible. Any suggestions on brands or models that work well together?
